Traffic backing up around scene of falling glass
CHICAGO (STMW) — Traffic was backing up Wednesday afternoon after an area east of Michigan Avenue and north of the Chicago River was blocked off because of dangerous conditions from fallen glass.
The Chicago Fire Department cordoned off an area at East Ohio and North St. Clair streets because of “dangerous coping” and falling glass from a building, Fire Media Affairs spokesman Rich Rosado said. Police were redirecting traffic around the immediate area.
The incident occurred about 3 p.m. and no injuries had been reported as of 3:45 p.m., Rosado said.
Police did not immediately have details.
